Meditaion of All Legal Issues
An impartial divorce mediator will assist you with all legal issues that should be properly resolved in connection with your separation or divorce. To help you accomplish this goal, your mediator will ensure that you receive the information necessary for you to make intelligent decisions.
Marital Separation and Property Settlement Agreement
The mediation process includes our preparation of a formal, legally binding Marital Separation and Property Settlement Agreement which will accurately reflect the agreements reached during mediation. The settlement agreement will satisfy the applicable provision of the Domestic Relations Law and cover all requisite issues, including child custody and visitation, division of assets and liabilities, personal property, retirement benefits, real property, child support, spousal support, college expenses, medical insurance, life insurance and federal and state income taxes.
Separation or Divorce
After the Marital Separation and Property Settlement Agreement has been signed by both you and your spouse, you will be legally separated, which means that you and your spouse will each have the right to live separate and apart and to act in all respects as if you were no longer married. However, neither you nor your spouse can remarry until you have obtained a divorce through the courts. If you and your spouse wish to obtain a divorce, we can make the requisite filing on your behalf.
